Text Box: Text Box: Monroe County Rod and Gun Club 1st Annual Chili Cook-off January 11th 2009   Entry form and $10.00 entry fee must be turned in to Mark Palmer II by January 4th.   Judging will be done by a panel of 3 judges.  Judging will be based on AROMA, COLOR, CONSISTENCY, TASTE and AFTERTASTE.   Contestants must make a minimum of 2 gallons of chili.  The chili will be sold after the judging for $2.00/bowl.   Chili shall be pre-cooked and brought to the club by noon for judging.    Contestants may use any ingredients they choose.  Chili can be spicy or mild (it is at the discretion of the cook) Please note:  You must be willing to taste your own chili.   All contestants are to check in upon arrival.  Once checked in, the contestant will receive 3 small cups with lids.  Chili should be placed in each cup and sealed with the lid.  The contestant will then draw a number and the number will be placed on the lids and given to the judges.    Once the judges have sampled all contestants’ chili, and filled out all score sheets the chili will be put out for sale.   Winners and prizes will be announced between 3:00 and 4:00.  The winner will have their name placed on a plaque that will be displayed in the Monroe County Rod & Gun Club clubhouse.    *** This is NOT a professional chili cook-off.  It is for fun only. ***     ENJOY AND HAVE FUN!!!   Click here for Entry Form in pdf format Text Box: Upcoming Events

Text Box: Kids Christmas Party The party will be held on Saturday, December 20th at 12:00 pm. Please bring a wrapped gift for your child with his/hers first and last name on it, Santa will hand out the gifts. There will be a sign up sheet posted at the club. You must sign up by Dec 14th. Please include child’s name and the total number of adults that will be attending. The club will provide hotdogs and chips.
